This
design is inspired both by America's
undying fascination with pop culture
and also by the undying spirit of
the buffalo and urgency to conserve
nature. Hardly an American out there
wouldn't recognize the essence of
one of pop culture's most beloved
icons: Elvis. It is my intent to capture
the attention of passersby with the
familiarity of the costume, and also
to provoke empathy, thought and support
toward the cause of buffalo preservation
through the use of the piece's realistic
face, chest and tail. His costume,
a merging of real and imagined outfits,
is the white,

intricately rhinestone studded jumpsuit
we so know and love. It has been mostly
be painted on, except for the hair,
bellbottoms and collar, which I stuck
somewhat off the piece. The entire
work would sparkles from the sequin
and rhinestone studded collar all
the way down to the blue suede hooves,
and to me, this illustrates the light-hearted
good sense of humor we know as Oklahomans.
