Description

This
buffalo represents a sky filled with
Oklahoma native butterflies and butterflies
found in this region. The sky fades
down to deep indigo, then black at
hooves. Butterflies continue along
top of head and face. Oklahoma prairie
grasses along the bottom portion of
legs.
I was inspired by the monarch migration
across this state.

I am struck by the realization that
there were once tens of thousands
of buffalo moving across the grasslands
of Oklahoma, and of what a powerful
sight that must have been.
