Artist's Description
The Oklahoma Main Street Center provides preservation revitalization to many communities across the state. The sense of pride in restoring a part of history is a wonderful opportunity. By preserving the heritage of Main Streets across Oklahoma, the new slogan by the State Commerce Department takes on special meaning "I Believe in Oklahoma".

I tried to convey the sense of community spirit and pride in the restoration of the architecture of Oklahoma's restored Main Street communities. I can not think of a more fitting palette to represent Oklahoma than the proud bison. I am very proud to be a part of this wonderful project.





Spirit of the Buffalo originated as a public art project combining art, commerce and civic pride in Oklahoma featuring Oklahoma artists. Initial proceeds benefited the Nature Conservancy's work in Oklahoma. The website project continues through private funds.
